The same bracket that holds in a wood stud can pull out of a metal stud or crumble a hollow block wall. Most commercial interiors use metal studs, which don’t hold wood screws under heavy loads. We use toggle bolts, backing plates spanning several studs, or blocking installed behind the drywall where heavy fixtures are planned.
Sleeve anchors or concrete screws sized for the load, set in solid material rather than hollow block cores wherever possible.
Before drilling, we check the expected load against the anchor ratings and space the brackets accordingly. Every run is laid out with a laser level so long walls of shelving line up across all units.

Shelving that pulls out of a wall, sags under stock or was hung on drywall anchors is an injury waiting to happen. We check the wall, match the anchors to the load and leave installations level and solid.
It depends on the wall and the load. Wood studs take screws or lag screws into the framing. Metal studs need toggle bolts, backing plates across several studs or blocking behind the drywall. Concrete and block walls need sleeve anchors or concrete screws in solid material. Bracket spacing and anchor count are set by the expected load. Standard drywall anchors aren't suitable for loaded commercial shelving.
Yes. For moderate loads we use snap toggles or toggle bolts. For heavy shelving we through-bolt backing plates that span several studs, add blocking between studs where walls are open, or anchor to columns and structure behind the wall when the load calls for it.
Yes. We assemble and install gondola runs, wall standards and brackets, slatwall, gridwall and display fixtures for new stores, resets and remodels. We can work overnight or before opening so the sales floor stays open.
We set a laser reference line across the whole wall, mark every anchor point before drilling and use adjustable brackets where the system allows. Commercial floors are rarely level, so we check against several reference points to make sure the run looks level in the room, not just on a single shelf.
Usually, yes. We section off the work area, keep noise down and finish one area before moving to the next. In retail we typically work before opening or after closing.
