Commercial maintenance technician / handyman contractor

About the role

Facility360° Solutions is looking for an experienced and dependable commercial maintenance technician to handle handyman, repair, and facility maintenance work across Greater Philadelphia. The properties are commercial: offices, retail stores, restaurants, medical suites, warehouses, and hospitality locations.

This is an independent contractor position with the potential for a consistent volume of work. Most assignments come through our commercial handyman and facility support programs, so the same buildings come back on a recurring basis. You will not be bidding new work every week.

What we need is someone who can diagnose common maintenance problems on the spot, complete repairs safely in an occupied building, communicate clearly with a property manager standing next to them, and represent the company well. If you have spent time in commercial properties and know how to work around tenants and business hours, this will feel familiar.

What you’ll be doing

• General commercial handyman and facility maintenance work
• Minor plumbing repairs — faucets, toilets, drains, fixtures, and leak-related work
• Minor electrical work — switches, outlets, light fixtures, and basic troubleshooting
• Doors, locks, hinges, closers, handles, and commercial hardware repair
• Drywall repair and patching, painting, caulking, and finish work
• Installing shelving, fixtures, equipment, cabinets, and signage
• Inspecting maintenance issues and explaining the recommended fix
• Clear before-and-after photographs on every job
• Accurate job updates and material information back to dispatch
• Keeping the work area clean and safe throughout
• Professional communication with clients, property managers, tenants, and dispatchers
• Scheduled maintenance visits, plus occasional urgent repair calls

What we’re looking for

Experience

• At least 3 years of professional handyman, construction, or property maintenance work
• Practical working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems
• Experience in occupied commercial properties preferred

Credentials and equipment

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal work vehicle
• Your own basic tools and equipment for routine maintenance work
• Active general liability insurance
• Current Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor registration
• Ability to invoice and work as an independent contractor
